Glady SS - Great Biking, Worth for What you Pay...

It is my first review in web. I bought Glady SS 10 days back (March 21 2009). I did lot of survey, thanks to MS. Finally narrowed down to Zeus/ Shine/ Glady.

In my first sight, I fell on love to Glady SS (black X red). My purse also favored Glady. Its long dream to have a Yamaha product. I was comfortable HH Spl owner for last 11 years. I looked for upgrade on power. So Glady won this part too. 11bhp with 123.7cc engine was amazing. Very good pickup and good control and braking.

Zeus lacks power and shine delivery time takes 45 days and price with full version costs at +56k. The extra features like Tachometer, built in disk/self/alloy wheel are good deal to buy. The bad part of this bike is to compromise the parts finish quality of rear mudguard, half chain guard, disk plate finishing, front tank scoop plastic etc. (But for the price you pay, you have to compromise). Next is front number plate, horrible look to bike. I am looking for some alternative, due sporty mud guard bit risky to have it under head lamp :(

Mileage part, it is quiet good, in Highway (Tambaram- Chengalpatu) I got 63kmpl. But city ride and highway mixed (50:50) got 54kmpl. But Still I didnt complete my first service. I ride at maximum of 55- 60kmph to set my engine atpresent. I will update you later.

Vibration, as of now I didn’t feel much vibration. I can comment this after few months.Engine was powerful, transmission was smooth. One request to buyers, don’t change the gear lever, the company made is sporty and if you practice for few days, you will start loving it. Price in Chennai varies around 1.5k between 4 showrooms. So it makes you to bargain. I got it for 53k with all accessories (foot rest).

Overall, I am very much satisfied. Ride Quality is excellent, Become a Proud Yamaha owner now :) Can anyone help me in best sitting posture in Glady SS, I feel something wrong, as I feel uncomfortable seating (slight back pain) and hand joint pain even in short trips like 15km. Or is it due to change of bike from HH Spl of 11yrs ride??

Update after 2nd Service:

I have completed just 2000km, 2nd service over. Bike is getting better n better now, smooth till 70kmph (not comparing with any other bikes, it is by my own stds.). I just checked once 95kmph top speed otherwise, 60-65kmph is my regular speed. Mileage part, I am not checking regulary, but am sure of around 50+.

Had minor vibrations near foot rest (esp while deceleration), during 2nd service, they had tighted all bolts and nuts, it is ok now. Service is ok type. Fitted pair of ROOTS horn with cutoff relay, amazing sound, using switch to change to original one for city rides. Raised the handle bar, so no back pain now (I stated earlier in the review)

*Cheers,

Anand.*

Update:

I removed the front no. plate and put a sticker in visor center, it looks ok now. I will upload my bike foto later this week! Or else you can try plastic boards with spl clamps, which will not harm much to mud guard. Rear wheel Tyre width is real pain... in Highway if big truck crosses (even for high wind), there is a shake, the road grip is not good enough :(
