Yes , all of you have heard about it, seen it, and envied it. Yes I am talking about the greatest bike ever to hit the indian roads, the Fast , the Furious and the Speed King YAMAHA RX100.
I feel some of you might not agree with me , because of the likes of some exceptionally good bikes like Yamaha RD 350, Suzuki Shogun and even Hyosung Comet now, but if you look carefully all of these bikes had some or the other major fault and hence couldn`t be crowned THE KING OF INDIAN ROADS.( Rd 350, not stable at high speeds, Shogun, the engine had a small life, Comet huuhhhh!! to expensive)
Now, compare it with a Yamaha Rx100 , which can be bought around Rs 15, 000 and put in another three to four thousand and eureka!! u`ve got a brand new spanking bike!!!!!!!.
RX 100 is, was, and will still be the best no matter what because Yamaha , when this bike was being produced had used a very very important principle of keeping things simple, nowadays , people hear about techno whiz like, DTSI, VTI, QUANTUM CORE etc, which is nothing but old wine in new bottle with a little tweaks here and there.
These bikes are no match for the speed king, even today an ten year old rx 100 if ridden with skill( and offcourse in good condition) can give competition to the likes of Pulsars , Fiero`s , Cbz`s and Unicorns.
I agree that these bikes have lived their age , that to in a Royal fashion where no bike on the indian roads could compete with them, and yes they are not suited to today`s emission norms and sky rocketing petrol prices , but for the real pleasure of biking , look no further.
These bikes are the Ford mustangs and Dodge Chargers of indian motorcycling and will never die off, but they`ll tell the new generations about how the bikes where made, and what was the ultimate driving pleasure of biking.
That is all I have to say in praise of this machine and any amount of praise will fall short for its qualities , believe me once youll ride it , youll simply love it.
bye.
