I am owning and driving a Yamaha Rx 100 for the last 10 yrs. Wow, it was love at first sight 10 yrs back and still is till date. Hats off to the Company for coming out with such a bike.
I am obsessed with my bike, I fell for its sheer power, sound and the feel of the bike. Once you sit on the bike you feel like you are driving some real stuff. No, doubt I had to compromise on fuel efficiency, but I was willing to fore - go that aspect for my bike.
I felt sorry for it when the company decided to stop production for newer versions. Its 2 stoke engine till date (touch wood) has not given me any extra expense on maintenance.
It easily clocks 0-60 in 2-3 sec flat, its pick up is excellent, It has never caused any vibrations on clocking 100 + on highways. The rides have always been smooth, comfortable and the shock absorbers are excellent to take on the vagaries of the Indian roads.I periodically get it serviced once in 2-3 months.
I feel like a king while driving it. Its like sitting on sofa and driving a bike. I will never part with it , because its very good and for nostalgic reasons ( bought it from my first salary)
Recently the Company had announced a buy back /exchange offer for the owners of 2 strokes to graduate to 4 stroke....nah , I wont part with my bike for any exchange .. Period..
MY only concerns it has of late started smoking a little (which I suppose could be a result of sub-standard fuel)
