Being a speedster, I was looking for a bike which will give me a good pickup and a reasonable mileage. Having rode the Yamaha RX 100, I couldnt find a good bike which is closer to it. Finally, I settled for its upgraded variation RX 135 in the year 2000. It has been almost 6 years now, and I have never repented on my decision.
I have run this vehicle close to 60000 km now... All it requires is a good service once in 3 months, replacement with original spares and you have got it..! Even today, I get a mileage of a minimum 45 kmpl in Bangalore city traffic. The pickup is tremendous. I can touch 90 and above easily with no hassles.
The only thing that I feel can be improved is its seat. You tend to get a backache given the road conditions and the flat seat. I tried to improve it by adding some cushion and seat cover, but that only aggravated the pain. This is something which the manufacturers can look into, but unfortunately the production has already been stopped.
We can definitely expect a market demand for old vehicles just as it exists for the RX100. In fact, there is little or no difference from the RX100. Only that the name has changed, because I heard that the engine cc for RX100 was close to 125 although it was specified as 99.99 cc in the specifications, which is why Yamaha had to pull out the vehicle when this came to light.
