I own a RX 135 (5 Speed) black 2000 model. I got it on compulsion of my mate, hez gotta RX100. I thought of getting an RX100, however I culdnt get a well maintained bike. when I see fiero, CBZ’s or Pulsars I feel I made an unwise decison however, due to the following reasons I fell I have made the right choice of bike.
itz an UNTAMED MONSTER! the pick up is tooooo good & road grip & control is far Supirior to pulsarz & CBZs. Only bullet can overtake YAM in this area. The suspension is OK.
ZERO MAINTENENCE!! thatz the key feature of the bike. just filling up the tank would do. Itz 14BHP (POWER). got a CAT-CON silencer(pollution free). it gives a decent mileage around 35-40 kmpl. Considering the power of the monster, it is a decent one. however the syling can be changed along witha much powerful headlight will give edge over other bikes.
Well! to the ’’ishstyle freaks ’’ here are few tips to make ur 135 look kool!
Raise the back of Ur 135 (Jus Cost u around Rs.60-100). There is no tech - marvel inthis!! Just a plate is welded on the rear of the bike below the seat to make it look higher and trust me!! YAM looks kool when raised.
When u raise ur back pls ensure that the seat it a ’’CUT SEAT’’ (Seat shaped like a curved ’’w’’) this will also be around Rs. 60
Then pls! pls! pls! remove the saree guard coz it looks sick with the raised back.
Thown the OE handlebar into the bin and fit a ’’fury Handle bar’’ (itz a small one and looks kool with araised back). this will cost around 60. but a second hand one can just cost around 30 bucks. however, alternativly u can cut the OE handle bar, coztz just 10 buck for cutting and 10 bucks for fitting.
NEVER EVER fit ’’clip ons or 2 parts’’ handle bar. bike sucks!.
NEVER FIT PROTON silencer and stuff, harmful to the env and also make loud noise.
Finally u can tune ur CAT-CON silence to the RX 100 beat. any road side mechanic can do it without harming the CAT CON. cost u less then Rs.50/-
Pls remove the oiginal headlight and fix a Halogen. coz itz much brighter and longlasting.
NEVER try to change the tank to tht of Pulsar etc. coz it never work well. Moreover looks tasteless.
FINALLY IF U HAVE THE CASH FIT A ’’DISc BRAKE’’. I dunno why these YMIL didnt fit a disc to such a high speed bike. a kit costs u around 5000/- (without labour cost and inclides the hub, disc, calipers, new rim, spokes and the disc mechanism.)
those ppl in and around Chennai can go to PUDUPET where u will get this kit and those not in chennai will have to buy the following
disc brake kit (enticers - rs. 6000/-)
RIM & spoke (Rs. 500)
Welding and misc materials (Rs .500)
labour (rs. 200)
The rear tyre is pathetic and fix a pulsar tyre to it....... however u need to change the rim.
THE RD maniacs can fit a round rear light and do other RS styling. the vehicle looks great in RD styling, (Anyway younger brother, isnt he?)
