Yash Tonk:King of Tellywood

I am writing this review for such a great actor who has mesmerized us with his powerful performances for years.Yash Tonk is one of the best & versatile actors of Indian Television till date and also a very down to earth person. From a small role in’Just Mohabbat’ to a strong role in Kahin Kissi Roz’ to a powerful cameo in’Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, this handsome man has done justice to all kinds of shades he portrayed on screen.

Who can forget the actor who created history by essaying double role of Kunal & Kuljit in’Kahin Kissi Roz’ and again created the same magic as Shiv & Samar for’Karam Apna Apna’ on screen? It is very difficult to play double roles having different shades in which even great actors(including film celebs) failed miserably but Yash carried the roles flawlessly and successfully more than once.Of course, I am sure none of you have forgotten the Rocky, the Love Guru in 2003 movie Ishq Vishk. He was simply mindblowing there.

Although all the shows in which Yash has acted so far do not have a great following like other shows, but surely he has clicked as an actor and in the character he played.Be it the mysterious-Kunal Sickand, be it the suave/funny-Shiv/Samar Kapoor or be it the menacing-Shiv Singhania, Yash has proved to the world that talent has no boundaries and no shades irrespective of the popularity. When Iqbal Khan walked out of’Karam Apna Apna’, it was very difficult to find an actor to replace the impact of Iqbal.

Then Yash Tonk was roped in to replace Iqbal. Many people commented that Yash is the worst choice for Iqbal’s replacement and some of them even boycotted the show. But still Yash Tonk managed to strike a chord among viewers as Shiv Kapoor and also later as Samar Kapoor although the show didn’t rule the trps. Some people still religiously follow the show only because of him. Many of his fans really cried when Shiv Kapoor was shown to be killed in the show. This proves how effectively Yash managed the show with the character which then-so-popular Iqbal Khan earlier played.

Currenly he is playing the psycho Shiv Singhania shown obsessed with a middle-aged married woman in the flagship show’Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.He is playing a negative role for the very first time in his life but he really gave an impressive performance as a negative character right from his entry in the show. His expressions and dialogue delivery are worth watching here.He is surely going to give other negative characters in Indian Television a run for their covers if his role gets an extension here.

The show used to be below top 10 in trps chart, but after Yash’s entry, its trps climbed and now the show is continously remaining among the top 4 shows in trps. He is one of the stylish actors on screen. His personality, his presence and his expressions set the scenes on fire.Yash Tonk is an excellent performer too.I still remember his superb dance moves in’Nach Baliye2’, not to forget his fantastic solo’One Love’ performance, his daring bare chest’Satrangi re’ performance and his salsa’Sholon si’ performance with wife Gauri.
