Dukhad Yatra - Resolved

People reading this review please start from the bottom. I have been updating the latest events. After my last update, I sent a mail to the CEO and co-founders of the company. Ms. Sabrina Chopra responded immediately to my mail and I got a call from Mr. Rasik Malhotra within few minutes promising to look into the matter personally and get my case resolved.


My issue got resolved within a week. In continuation to my previous review, I am yet to receive my cash back. I contacted my bank and they sent me the required mail again, which I forwarded to yatra (to Ritika thakur and her manager Akshay sharma) on June 20th .  I got the following response and silence after that. I have tried sending mails and calling but no reply nor cash back.


Has anyone approached Mumbai mirror or any other media to do an article


on all these travel websites ? How do they become "India’s number 1 travel


website" ?

Yatra does not give the cash back it advertises.


My story started with a wrong booking on their part, I called to get it corrected and the booking amount went down. My credit card still reflected the earlier higher amount. After repeated calls to yatra, they said that they have charged me correct amount and if my credit card shows wrong amount, then I should contact my bank. I filed a dispute for the remaining amount and got it back.


After that my nightmare started. In spite of 2 months passing after my booking, I did not get my cash back. I was traveling out of India and I sent them a mail from there regarding the same. Imagine my horror when I got a mail back saying that my bank had charged back the whole amount instead of just the dispute amount and yatra was going to cancel my return ticket if I didn’t contact them within 24 hours. I immediately called the USA call center number. No one was able to to help me there, they said to give my local number and they would call to sort it out. No one called me and I was on tenter hooks till the day of my return in case they really canceled my return ticket.


After coming back, I followed up with Ritika Thakur and she said that I need to get a mail from my bank saying they have just charged back the dispute amount and not the whole amount. I got that mail and have forwarded the same 10-15 times to relevant people and marked cc to support@yatra.com. I have yet to receive any response after that. No one is picking up the call center direct number for ritika thakur, neither is anyone able to help me if I generally connect to someone.


I read a review in mouth shut about someone sending mail to the co-founder and getting the problem resolved. I even did that, no response. Hence I am posting my story here to warn other people not to get taken in by all these cash back or any other offers by Yatra.com.


I also wanted to ask a question to other members if they have taken any legal recourse for their problems with yatra and did they have any success ?
