A day back I tried to book a set of tickets for jaipur to kolkata through yatra.com. Their site was very efficient . upto the payment that it rejected promptly. I called up the helpdesk and the guy there was extremely helpful - he booked the ticket on my behalf.(He also made the observation that there are some problems with their server and hence the payment request was timing out).
After downloading the confirmation mail, I was shocked to find that he has got one of the 4 traveller names wrong - he has repeated one of the names in place of another so there were two entries of the same name on the ticket. I tried to call up their number but it was busy. I tried to call the mumbai phone no. the Yatra guy had called me from - nobody picked it up. I went over to their office in Gurgaon. The staff there were very helpful - they immediately checked it up for me and told me the name of the agent who had worked on my entry for booking from their admin console. They arranged to call the Yatra HO in Mumbai and I got a call from the yatra mumbai again.
This time they put me on hold for a pretty long time and shuttled me across several people. The first people were at least decent, but the last one who seemed some sort of in-charge started denying what the Gurgaon staff had just confirmed.
This guy kept telling me that I had booked this ticket myself - and that there was no data entry operator involved - all in all calling me a liar.
The staff at Gurgaon office told me to write to support and told me that this will be resolved . I will surely change my rating if this happens - but so far it has not.
I have been booking tickets on the internet only for years now through makemytrip, travelguru and several others. I have never encountered this type of situation.
UPDATE: I just got a mail from them. It says . .
