No way to cancel a booked bus ticket!

I booked 2 round trip tickets from Bangalore-Mangalore at yatra.comThey issued the following ticket.I wanted to cancel one leg of the travel. So I called the numbers mentioned in the ticket.The numbers


were of redbus. But redbus representative was not honoring the cancellation request.Instead, asked me to call yatra.com.Since yatra.com support number was not listed on ticket, I called justdial to get their support number. I tried at their site, they have cancellations for train and air, but not for bus tickets.


Then I called yatra.com. Once they hung up on me. I caled again. I was able to get to a human being after 7 minutes of struggling with automated responses. He said he is the flight guy and asked me to hold on while he tried the bus guys. He comes back after 2 minutes, tells me that the bus guys are busy/not picking up and gives three extensions to dial once I call yatra support. He cautions me to call after 10 minutes.I call call call and try these three extension in rotation, no luck. I gave up because my phone battery dead after 38 minutes of trying.


The good part is from the actual bus owner. He promised a 50% return when I called him and asked for a cancellation, just hours before the journey.

In order to provide a comprehensive choice of bus operators, departure times and prices io customers, they have tied up with manybus operators.


Yatra.com and redBus’s advice to customers is to choose bus operators they are aware of and whose services they are comfortable with.   Yatra.com a nd redBus’s responsibilities include:


(1)Issuing a valid ticket(a ticket that will be accepted by the bus operator) for its network of bus operators.(2)Providing refund and support in the event of cancellation subject to the cancellation policy.(3)Providing customer support and information in case of any delays / inconvenience.   Yatra.com and redBus’s responsibilities do NOT include:


(1)The bus operator’s bus not departing / reaching on time.(2)The bus operator’s employees being rude.(3)The bus operator’s bus seats etc not being up to the customer’s expectation.(4)The bus operator canceling the trip due to unavoidable reasons.(5)The baggage of the customer getting lost / stolen / damaged.(6)The bus operator changing a customer’s seat at the last minute to accommodate a lady/child.(7)The customer waiting at the wrong boarding point(please call the bus operator to find out the exact boarding point if you are not a regular traveler on that particular bus).(8)The bus operator changing the boarding point and/or using a pick-up vehicle at the boarding po int to take customers to the bus departure point.

  • Yatra.com redBus means to include Yatra, redBus and their partner outlets(Sify, Subhiksha, Done Card, Itz Cash etc) 2.The arrival and departure times mentioned on the ticket are only tentative timings as per the information passed on to us.However, the bus will not leave the source before the time that is mentioned on the ticket. 3.Passengers are required to furnish the following at the time of boarding the bus:

-A copy of the ticket(A print out of the ticket or the print out of the ticket email).-Identity proof(Driving license, Student ID card, Company ID card, Passport, PAN card or Voter ID card). Failing to do so, they may not be allowed to board the bus 4.Change of bus: In case the bus operator changes the type of bus due to some reason, Yatra.com or redBus will refund the differential amount to the customer upon being intimated by the customer within 24 hours of completing the journey. 5.Cancellation Policy: The tickets booked through Yatra.com and redBus are cancelable. After a ticket is cancelled, Yatra.com will refund the due amou nt after deducting the applicable cancellation charge.


Please contact our Customer Service Executives for details of cancellation, as the same differ for specific bus services. Unless otherwise informed(by the individual bus operators) the cancellation fee:


-1 week before departure - no cancellation fee-Between 3 days and 1 week from departure - 5%-Between 24 hours and 3 days from departure - 10%-Within 24 hours of travel - 100%.
