I am not a big fan of indian cinema but I still do watch the movies once in a while. Yuva, caught it on the cable somewhere in the middle of rani/abishek story and I was glued to the screen from then onwards.
Abhishek and ranis story was good, very realistic. Abishek acted really well...n he may feel a drastic increase in his fan following after Yuva. Ranis acting was good too...but her role was similar to that of chaltey chaltey and sathiya ...so that explains how she was able to fit in the role so neatly. The next story of ajey devgan and esha deol left much to be desired. For one he looked too old for the role he was playing it couldve been better played by someone younger. Other wise, his acting was fine ..the seasoned actor that he is ..
Eshas role didnt require a lot of acting skills and so none delivered. The Esha-moving-in-ajeys -place part was a little unrealistic and so was the streams of students following ajey striving to make the world a better place to live in. The picture shown was too optimistic.
The vivek/kareena story was fun to watch. The pair had great chemistry. As much as I had to admit, I liked kareena in the movie. Whos acting funny and down to earth and not as much as the Shes-all-that roles she was doing previously ..although theeres still a touch of that ..duno why ..mayb she has some serious insecurity issuess but anyway I liked her in this movie. She did well and thats all there is to it. Vivek s acting was almost flawless..but I dont know why all inidan directors want there heroes to cry.
There was no need to show viveks watery eyes wen kareena comes back to him. The fighting scene at the end was wierd and again unrealistic. The trafic s moving on as if nothings happened .wen ever this sort of thing happens there tend to b onlookers and then some nosy people who want to barge in. None shown. The editing however was good and it was beautifully shot.
I like how many wants his ending to b a lil sad( although many said dil se went overboard ). Had it been a Karan johar movie (not that he has half the grey cells to make a movie remotely similar ) theyld have shown lallan reforming complettely and frends with the other two. But hey its not a karan johar / shahrukh khan movie and boy am I glad..the music wasnt much of a treat but fr me good movie doesnt necesarily have to have great music so mani is spared..but not A R rehman ..he failed to live up to the expectations.
All in all the movie was good. People who dont like it mite as well stick to karan johar whos there type.
