Experiments are done by Maestros

....and as I was listening to the rollicking beats, brilliantly-etched frames of a great film flashed before my eyes. Newness is Freshness....Freshness is the taste of Youth....And the album carries this taste throughout.

Yes! I am talking about the audio of YUVA....a ManiRatnam film.

About this album, I got two things to tell....one as an ardent music-lover and....the other as a critic (Pardon me if I am not yet one). Music has always corresponded to the age. It kept changing with the ages. And every change began with an experiment....mostly, a successful one. The music of YUVA tells us of another such experiment by A R Rehman. The best part of the album is the great renditions of the singers. They brilliantly delivered most of the composition, which on-general is done by the instruments. This reminds me of the ideas of the great maestro Illayaraja.

Personally and presently, I am obsessed with the Lucky Ali’s number (Khuda Hafiz) and the Adnan Sami’s(Baadal).

And as a critic, I rate the lyrics of this album, below par. Its obvious that the songs were written after they have been composed. And the raps and rocks leave less space for Mehboob’s poetry.

THE FINAL WORD: Must-buy (for all music-lovers)
