Youth rocks !

As the movie title suggests that the film is based around the lives of 3 young men, the music too is created by ARR to be very young and fast paced. Anyways everytime Mani and ARR work together it has spelled musical delight and here too is the same case.

But one sincere request to ARR, please use only Gulzar saab <Dil Se - can anybody forget those enchanting lyrics> for your songs. Mehboob really screws u the lyrics, this review is solely based on my liking for ARR music, for the lyrics I wouldnt vouch for the quality.

Before I start the review, I would like to share a little info on ARR music and its effect on me and would like the readers to share their views on the same. Whenever any ARR album hits the shelf I have it withing the next 48 hrs. and on the first listening I invariably dislike the compositions. But then on repeated hearings it grows on you and also when the video comes out and you can then visualise the song when you listen to it, the magic of ARR completely overtakes you. I have always felt this way.... how about you readers.

Lets start the review.....

1> Dakka Lagga Bukka - AR. Rahman, Karthik, Mehboob

Very Very odd https://lyrics. Mehboob is the sole culprit. The Tamil version has Jana Gana Mana , Mehboob converted it into this .... sounds like some Anu Malik or Subhash Ghai song lyric. But the song has got beats and will be popular in discos. But for the lyrics it would have been much better loved song

Rating-6/10

2> Khuda Hafiz - Sunitha Sarathy, Lucky Ali, Karthik

Best song of the album, great vocals and very good music by ARR. Lyrics are also good here <thank god>. I would specially emphasize on the vocals of Sunitha when she croons sensously just close your eyes and listen it seems as if she is right behind you and wishering in your ears.

Rating-10/10

3> Kabhie Neem - Madhushree, AR. Rahman

This song is a tyical ARR folksy number on the lines of Chalka from Saathiya, but Madhushrees voice is refreshingly new and adds the zing to the song. Like I said I didnt like the song much at first, but when I saw the promos <the song is picturised on Abhishekh and Rani> it fitted so well with the characters the were playing , that I have started liking the song.

Rating - 8/10

4> Dol Dol - Blazee, Shaheen

This is a ra number and maybe would be used in the background or as a intro song, the lyrics are incomprehensible. But no worries the music is very good and sure to hit the disco floors very soon.

Rating - 8/10

5> Badal Jo Aaye - Adnan Sami, Alka Yagnik

The weakest song in the whole album. The music is something similar to Aye Udi Udi from Saathiya or is it Adnan who creates such a feeling with his heavy voice, whichever the reason the song is a run of a mill song, unless the picturisation would work magic and out life into the song.

Rating - 4/10

6> Fanaa - Sunitha Sarathy, AR. Rahman, Tanvi

A superb song, very fast paced, beautifully comosed and nicely designed - for the mixing and overlays of voices. ARR sounds amazing when he sings in the background Fanaaaaaaaa.

Rating - 10/10

Overall a very good album. But I frankly this album has very little chance to come into my Top Ten ARR albums, but way above the songs dished out by other Indian music composers, But is there any competition ? ? ? ?
