I was desperate to see this movie from the word Go. The promos and the storyline were so convincing that I declared it as a biggie before the release. And I must say that I found Zinda far above my expectations.
This movie would be best known for its strong storyline, power packed performances as well as the narration. This is basically a Sanjay movie - Sanjay Gupta, Sanjay F Gupta and Sanjay Dutt.
This movie marks the next generation of the Bollywood. The suspense in the movie has been tightly kept and is the essence of the movie. The actions scenes by ruthless Sanju baba are simply great. He looks stunning with the drill machine and the claw hammer. The love-making scene between Sanju and Lara is awesome, much different from what we have seen in other Bollywood flicks.
The film narrates the story of Balajeet Roy (Sanjay Dutt) who is a software engineer in Bangkok. Along with him is his wife Nisha (Celina Jaitley) and a childhood friend Joy (Mahesh Manjerekar). As soon as Nisha comes to know that she is expecting, unxpected happens. Bala goes missing. He is kept inside a dark room, a TV being is only companion. During his captivity he comes to know about the murder of his wife. 14 years pass, and on one good day he finds himself free on the roads of Bangkok.
The Bala who is set free is altogether different from the Bala who was abducted. He has become an animal with the only mission in his life to find who did this to him and why.
Now I will advice you not to try to know about the story before watching it. Watch the movie to find who did this and why as well as where does John and Lara fit into the movie.
Sanjay is a clever director who knows how to convey the hardcore scenes - be it of emotion, fury, love or pain. The movie takes so many chances, but Sanjay has pulled them all very brilliantly.
In the end I will say that GOOOO!!!, dont miss it.
