I got that the book is about IIT students, and I got that you did not like it, so your review is useful that way. But I'm afraid I was too dense to get the rest of what you said. I think you're right on the mark, atleast with the people on your list that I recognize. Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, especially, are my pet peeves. I would love to love Preity Zinta, but I don't think she's a good actress. I know zilch about acting, so it's nice to see I'm not alone in thinking a read more...
And will check out the movie. The way you described it, sounds like just the sort of movie I'd love (I'm very good at leaving my brain back at home)

I don't know if I'll ever see Malshej Ghats, but reading your review felt like a brief vacation. I shuddered when you described bathing in the freezing water, though :) ! That doesn't sound delicious, but everything else does.

I don't get to see these shows, looking forward to getting a glimple of this on my visit home.
