A Mechanical Engineer from REC, Warangal (1977 batch) and a Post Graduate in Machine Tools. I am a Petroleum Applications Engineer, specialising in Fuels and Lubricants. I am presently working in Dubai. Like all Indians living abroad, I am a keen follower of Indian Song. My favourite Indians are: Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Tabu, Kaifi Azmi, Manmohan Singh and the innocent, poor Indian.

I heard a foolish comment that Greg Chappell demoralised Irfan Pathan by changing his batting order ! What Irfan lost was the focus on length and line. You said that Sachin is the greatest batsman. Is he really ? Have you analysed almost 2,500 test match players to come to this conclusion ? I doubt what you say. May be Donald Bradman and Gary Sobers are always many notches above Sachin Tendulkar. You can not judge a player by career average. You ha read more...

The computer programme gives credit to any innings where the batsman is not out. It also gives credit to the number of catches held by the player as fielder. In these two parameters, Laxman appears to have scored over Jaffer. Otherwise, performances of both were low.

You have written beautifully about your choices. Have you heard songs from 'Anupama' a 1966 film for which Hemant Kumar provided music ? Asha sang a gem 'Bheegi Bheegi Fiza' and you are reminded of Lata's Hawa Mein Udta Jaye. If Lata came up with Pakeezah, Asha came strong in Umrao Jaan. Of course, read more...
