I love humour, and I consider that my biggest strength. I have travelled ALOT-from China to the UK, Europe to Australia, I've seen alot...but there's so much more to see. I believe thats the best thing one can do- learn by living. So live well....very well.... . I am a Bombay guy per say. Always have and always will be. For now, my home is downtown Chicago where I work as a Project Manager.

Yes, I think the car still is worth a lac. However, try to aim for the Euro 3 version, the newer the model the better. The only other car that I can recommend for the lac is the Nano.

No offense bud, but your 'the reduction in weight (about 25 kgs) should lead to marginal fuel efficiency of 2-3% more that the normal Indigo. Infact if you add the Alloy Wheels to the CS, you can add another 2-3% to your fuel efficiency.' statement is as mythical as they come. The Alloys Read More...

Yes VG, you're right. The Indica definately is a value proposition BUT the quality will never match even the Swift, forget the Fabia. The Fabia is ooozing with high quality looks, touch and other sensations. The problem is that Indians have to pay twice the price of an Indica to 'Feel Special'. Read More...
Dinzaach, I've owned a Palio and an Indica. Trust me when I say that NOTHING beats an Indica for interior space. Nothing. The Fabia doesn't come close but is marginally better than the Swift. Thanks all for your thoughts!
Srini, In the 2 years we've owned the car, we've never had to wait more than 2-5 minutes to fill up CNG. Never! Wouldn't you rather save thousands a month for that? Reduce pollution? Reduce India's dependence on Foreign oil etc. etc. the list of benefits go on! Do the smart thing, get a Read More...

Poorly written...its almost as if you're talking and not writing, which is a shame because I'm sure you have good perspective for a comparison with your Passat. I own a VW Jetta and would've liked to hear what you have to say

You make some interesting points but the bottom line is, sadly, your English does have room for improvement. Your statements are not cohesive and your sentences too fragmented. Don't take this the wrong way - you're definately better than the majority of India - but you still have lots of room Read More...

The CNG Optra has not caused any issues in the rainy season in Bombay. That is a myth that Taxi drivers spread, nothing more. The Optra is the most luxurious vehicle that runs CNG. If your wallet can afford one, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, try the Aveo 1.6 CNG too.
Ashi, If you are not planning on buying the General Motors kit, please dont go with the CNG option for the car. If GM sells the kits in Delhi, they have to be registered. Make sure you work that out with the dealer. Service costs, as I mentioned earlier, are the same. No difference. Servic Read More...
Hi Ashi, Most people think that using CNG equates to higher running costs. While that may be true on Taxis, on the Optra, its not the case. Maintainance is still the same as a regular Optra. No head cleaning needed. Service the car at the authorized dealers and make sure you purchase new ai Read More...

Anyone claiming to get anything more than 10kmpl in a 1.6 OPTRA is either a liar or an idiot. The car is NOT capable of returning anything more than 10kmpl(that too with a huge proportion of highway driving). Also, don't worry. The engine you have is the same as the newer 'VGIS' models. ...are not accurate. GM is an expert at inflating ALL their mileage figures because they do not build fuel efficient cars. We've had our 1.6 for 3 years now. our BEST mileage has been 9kmpl overall. IF we drive on the highway, we'll touch 10kmpl. Forget 12.2 or anything else. If you want to s Read More...
