Innovation has never taken a pause in our lives and with increase in the demands and needs, people have taken a keen interest in entertainment and luxury. Over the past 40 years, technological innovations in the area of race car, has seen a tremendous development from the 1970’s, nature of such industry has given a constant need for the development in their performances. Whereas working on improvement of the race cars performance, various factors influencing the contribution, such as, power, drive, weight, tyres and aerodynamics. Aerodynamics, greatly influenced engineers, scientists, designers and many industrialists to invest, investigate and improve the methods and understanding the greater technological advances from the past years, included experimental wind tunnel testing, now to building complex mathematical models to depict the exact wind tunnel analysis to computational mode. In recent years, the need for a stable design as per the rules and regulations postulated by FIA(Federation Internationale de l’automobile) officials has become one of the demands to be dealt, in order, to attain maximum speed for the formula one race car, today’s aerodynamicists has witnessed that with every addition of downforce to the race car, equating to conserve several milliseconds in the lap time. Hence the teams are patiently investing sufficient amount of time and money in performing wind tunnel experiments and computational fluid dynamics(CFD) study, whereas, freedom enjoyed by the past scientist, due to non-frequent alterations in the rules and regulations given out every year.
