The new generation of phones seems to have an explosion feature embedded within them.
While Samsung incurred huge losses due to explosive Note 7 devices, it was also reported that one of the iphone7 devices caught fire.
The latest entry in this fast-growing club of explosive smartphones is Reliance owned handset LYF Water 1
The LYF smartphone explosion was reported by a user named Tanvir Sadiq on twitter.
His tweet read "My family had a narrow escape today after @reliancejio's @Reliance_LYF phone exploded & burst into flames," and also had photos of the device post the disaster.
One of his tweets said that the incident occurred when he was browsing the internet on his device
The victim also urged LYF smartphone users to be "very cautious and careful"
When Reliance was contacted by International Business Times, the following statement was issued by the company
LYF range of phones is designed and manufactured with global standards by some of the world's leading manufacturers of mobile phones. Each phone goes through a stringent quality control process," Reliance said "We are concerned about the incident reported in social media and are taking the matter seriously. We are assessing the cause and will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter."
"Customer safety is paramount to us and, based on our findings, we will take appropriate action," was also mentioned by the company.
