I am based in Hyderabad and had bought Amkette CD-RW( 4X - 12X) 700 MB 80 min. from Chinnoy Trade Center in Secunderabad. Most of these discs, I used for my office use recording MS- Office files ( doc, ppt and xls) and they worked just fine. However, 2 of the discs, I tried to use for recording music ( mp3 and wma files). I burnt the music files using Nero Street Smart at a burn speed of 10Kbps. However after burning the same, I tried to play the files but could not.

The PC was not reading the files and the CD drive lamps just kept blinking on and on. I tried to view the recorded files by going to " My Computer " and opening the CD- Drive . However doing this, the system just got hung. Even Nero CD- DVD Speed ( in the Toolkit) gets hung when I try to open the CD-RW. Also I tried opening the Amkette discs on my laptop and also my friends PC but the results were the same.

Just to make sure that there is no problem with the music which I recorded, I tried recording the same using HP CD-RW ( 1x to 4x) C4438A 650 mb and it is recording just fine and I am able to open the recorded files and play them both in my PC and also in my DVD player. Asking for some help, I wrote to Amkette, from their web site but am yet to hear from them.

Actually, I have noticed that most Indian companies do not respond to customer queries, which either shows the poor confidence they have on their product quality or the utter disregard they have for people who have spent money on their product !!
