Buying mobiles have now become like buying groceries at ration shops; its unavoidable and whatever its on the shelf, you will have to be satisfied with.
Its become so ruthless, that common man's interest have been taken the back seat in this world of mobile gadgets.
Buying the costliest mobile will make you the king of the day when compared to the guy who buys just an ordinary mobile.
I bought one Nokia 3110 classic phone at SRI VASAVI MOBILE SHOP, #1 karnam st, Velacherry main rd, Chennai 42; for Rs.5,000=00.
It was for my mother who is around 60 yrs old and she was extremely happy to own a new mobile and felt like she is at par with the contemporary world.
All features were explained to her and she is now ready to use it, but when the mobile rang, it was very feeble for her to hear it.
I then took the phone and increased the volume to the maximum and showed it to her, but still she felt that the ring tone is not audible very clearly.
Well, I took her to the showroom in the evening, for her to make her choice of buying another model which can be heard louder with the ring tone. But to my surprise, the salesman did not agree to change the mobile nor did he care to send it to the Nokia service centre to check the ring tone audibility.
He bluntly said that it was our mistake of buying this particular model with less audible ring tone, and that he could not exchange it with another model, as we have spoken on the mobile with the call duration recorded in it.
I explained to him that it was only a matter of few hours of buying the mobile that I came back again to exchange it and no damage nor scratches were formed on it.
I got really annoyed and started to shout at him. My only concerned was that, can't he exchange the phone for the sake of a 60 yrs old woman who cannot hear the ring tone of the mobile clearly from a distance?
Will he do the same way if it was his mother?
I finally told him to keep the mobile for himself and left the showroom. He soon came out of the showroom and told me to take the mobile or HE WILL THROW IT IN THE DUSTBIN.
I TOLD HIM TO DO IT BY HIMSELF.
