Rock Groups have produced some Great Music Albums As well as some albums which could not do well.From 1960s to 2000s period many Rock bands has recorded many great spectacular albums which later became Landmarks albums in Music History.So here as a rock music fan iam looking at some of those Landmark albums of Rock.Here iam looking Some of these Top Rock Album in Music history.Due to limitation of space Here I can only put these many Best rock albums.This list is totally my own opinion of Best Rock albums.It may differ from other music lovers.
1.Pink floyd-Dark Side of the Moon.
One of the best Rock albums ever made by any rock band DSOTM by Pink floyd
is a classic from all standards.The album has been in list of Best rock albums from several decades and years and has become mandatory to include PINK FLOYD Dark Side OF The MOON in list of Greatest Rock albumsThe album has great pyschedelic Classics like Money,time,Us and Them.The album was often seen ahead of its time and is will be always consider one of Finest Pyschedelic Rock albums ever made by Progressive rock Kings Pink FLOYD.
2.The Beatles-Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
One of the biggest rock n roll bands of all times.The Beatles became sensation in UK.
Their first hit single was Love me Do.And then Where ever they went The beatles were mobbed by their die hard fans.IN 1960S The Beatles released many succesful crtical acclaim albums thus making one of Biggest Rock groups of that time.These albums were,Help,Rubber soul,Sgt lonely heart Club band,Let it be.Sgt Peppers Lonely heart club was most psychedelic Album of The Beatles.The album had manysongs which has heavy pyschedelic guitar effects on Them.These songs were Strawberry fields,Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,LUCY IN THE SKY WITH Diamonds. The album is still regarded as one of best rock album of all times.
3.The Doors-The Doors
When The Doors released their Debut album The doors nobody expected it to be one of best rock albums .The album also established The doors as one of best rock bands of 60/70s.The album had many songs like Light my fire,Break on through to the other side which later became famous Hits of Rock n Roll.The album also became one of most influential albums
for Pyschedelic rock.The album sold 4 milions copies in US and sold more than 15 million copies worldwide.
4.Nirvana-Nevermind(1991)
This album not only brought Nirvana worldwide Fame and name but also brought alternative rock genre into the mainstream Music.And nirvana became bigggest band of the world at that time.Nevermind had got the sound of grunge Alternative rock a genre missing from mainstream rock for sometime.With nevermind also other Seattle bands like Soundgarden,Alice in chains and Pearl jam came into lime light.Nevermind became a instant hit with the help of Break out hit single Smells like Teen Spirit.Other hit singles from were Inbloom,Lithium,Drain you.The album became biggest hit of 90s selling 30 million copies worldwide.Nevermind is widely regarded as one of greatest rock album of modern rock.
5.Oasis-Whats the Story Morning Glory(1995)
One of biggest selling Music albums of all times in UK and worldwide by any band. This album made Oasis truly world biggest rock n roll band.And made sure they make permanent name in Britpop Superstars.The album had great guitar driven rock songs which became Rock anthems hits like Roll with it,Some might say,Morning Glory,Wonderwall,Dont look back in anger and Champange supernova.The album sold huge 22 million copies worldwide making Oasis biggest rock band of the World.Whats the Story Morning Glory(WTSMG) was awarded best album of 30 years at BRIT music awards.
6.Guns N Roses-Appetite for Destruction
One of best debut albums by any rock band.Appetite for destruction made Guns n Roses overnight superstars of rock.
Having catchy and anthem filled songs like Welcome to Jungle,Sweet Child of mine and Paradise city.Appetite for destruction also brought back old bad rock n roll which had vanished in late 1980s.The album has sold some 28 million copies world.
7.RED HOT CHILI Peppers-Californication(1999)
One of my all time fav rock albums is Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers.The album marked RHCP return to funk rock roots which band was known for.Californication had several singles which became huge rock hits around that time,and got they played repeatedly on music channels like Channel V.The album produced several famous hits which are huge hits all over the world.Opening track Around the world,Otherside,scar tissue which won Grammy award for best rock song in 2000 Grammy awards.The album became best seller in USA selling 4 million copies and worldwide selling 15 million copies.The album made Red hot chili peppers a household name of Funk and alternative rock.This also happens to be one of most fav albums of Red hot chili peppers.
8.Pearl Jam-TEN(1991)
One of the best albums to come out of 90 rock scene along with Nirvana Nevermind.Pearl jam TEN was a slow starter but soon it got due.And Pearl jam became a big band along side Seattle mate Nirvana.Though PEARL jam brand of grunge was slightly different From Nirvana grunge.It included more guitar solos but it became band trademark.With great solos and catchy riffsTracks like Alive,jeremy.Even flow and Once became grunge anthems.And TEN became one of the best selling albums of Pearl jam selling 10 milllion copies.
9.John Lennon-IMAGINE
One of most acclaimed rock n roll albums ever is John Lennon-IMAGINE.Imagine was John lennon second album.
Though it may not have been very succesful album like the album of The Beatles.Imagine was rock n roll album filled with anti war universal peace message.It is also said that John lennon increasing anti war statements against US govt was a concern for his life.Imagine had some great rock n roll tracks like Crippled inside,Love ballad Jealous guy,Anti war song Its so hard.And love songs like Oh Yoko.
