Hello Everyone, I believe it is my moral responsibility to inform you all regarding the treacherous means used to deceive civil services aspirants like myself by the numerous coaching institutes throughout the country. A case in particular is Jts Institute Bangalore, where I took a full year coaching for UPSC civil services exam. Before I begin, let me inform you, there will be attempts to tag me as an agent of any other institute, which I am not, as u will see I won’t be using any other name for advertising. I would also advise you, not to get carried away by what I say and do a bit of research from your end to confirm the genuineness, which you can easily do after interacting with the ex-students of the institute. I have ended up losing a lot of hard earned money and more importantly a great deal of time which you should be cautious about. The only thing that I gained from the institute, was the company of a few friends who like me were serious about preparation. It gave us a platform to analyze our lacunae and help each other for preparation of the exam.
To begin with, let’s talk of the advertising campaign. On their website you can find claims of Instant Result Guys, speak to any sensible person, associated with IAS coaching regarding this and you can gauge the plausibility. A blatant hoax. On the website you will find information like best Academy by Times of India! In fact, its an advertisement given by the institute and misusing the Great name of Times of India, its neither best nor good! I also one among the victim of that compaign,
And if u come to the list of Test there was just one test, But in their website they will mention 42, 44 test bla, bla… what they called mock test, before the prelims. An interesting feature about that was there were about half the number of question expected in the UPSC exam to be completed in full allotted time. That is how I came to know the meaning of mock test? I hope you are enlightened as well.
The director or whatever he claims to be of the institute, Mr Viswanathan ,Academic director In the institute, or Mr Rahul, I am sure they don’t know anything about IAS exam and they are good for nothing.
you have classes not according to the exam requirement but according to the availability of the faculties which again depends on luck. Will you believe me if I say that we had just one class each for history and current affairs in the entire year? Please confirm with other ex-students if you don’t. There are a few, master faculties. They consider themselves to be all-rounder, good in all subjects. Be it any class, if they don’t find the assigned faculty, they themselves will be ready next moment as substitutes. They call it as a Delhi Faculties, but in my whole year course I met only one so called delhi faculty But what happened was, even the Bangalore faculties are best it seems ,What a shame! Isn’t there anything called quality? You are teaching UPSC civil services aspirants, not school students. However, not everything is as bad. If I take up each and every topic for discussions like infrastructure (other than the present Shivaji nagar centre), study materials, topic wise distributions of classes, etc., there will be no end. There were no posts or blogs to guide me when I was making my decision. Also, I didn't get a chance to interact with other students. That is how I got trapped. So, I request all you readers, to please update everyone regarding your experiences. I had to join the institute because of some commitments to stay in bangalore. I had no options then. But if you guys do, then think about it, consider all the ramifications. And certainly is not a value for money!!!! So beware!
