I went to collect my glasses from the Galleria outlet of ‘brother opticians’ at 6pm on May 4th, instead of the committed time of 2pm.

I was made to wait, being told by the shop employee that the glasses were being cleaned. Reminded him to give me the lens power subscription on the rotine reference card that opticians give.He kept going to an inner room and would come back saying both were getting ready.

He continued going back and forth to the inner room, and kept giving me the job receipt. Each time I explained that I wanted the lens power to be on the routine card which all optical shops provide. Each time I presume he kept going for permission or guidance when I asked him ‘why the receipt’ ? Just then the only other customer left the shop, and (one of the) owners came from the inner room and started shouting at me, ending each of his sentences with the word ‘period’. When asked why he was shouting at me, his co-owner joined him in the fun of shouting at a solitary lady customer in a shop void, at that time, of any other customer.

I was appalled and dumbfounded. I had already paid the balance due.  I cancelled my order for the new glasses, let the advance amount for the repair to my old one remain, and left the shop. Never again !
