After Jaibhai conducted a contest so successfully last week, I felt tempted to have a go too. I thought long & hard about it. It has been a music filled last week, courtesy, Panchamda Celebrations and the demise of the iconic Michael Jackson. So it'll be the music industry again alright but for a change it'll be about international star musicians. It'll be a contest for Voting the Sexiest Rock Star of all times.

Here are a few names I could think of in a hurry.

Elvis Presley - The King. In everything he did. Period.

Mick Jagger - The 'Dirty Boy' of Rock n Roll. Those skin tight pants always meant business. Ladies loved his broad lips and his creases (afterall experience counts).

Jim Morrison - He had leather pants but more than that he had, as Austin Powers would say, Mojo. And at the right places too. Pamela Courson, Grace Slick, Nico ... the list is endless. The hottest export from Big Bro.

Robert Plant - The god of Classic Rock. The Kashmir Man. That arched body, that trademark wave of those hands has made many a guy wish he was born a girl.

Marc Bolan - The 'Electric Warrior' of Glam Rock. They say didnt know how to drive. Well, if they meant Girls, he drove them like no one else did. And he drove them in herds.

Steve Tyler - I'm sure had Steve been in India today, he'd have changed his song to "Pink is the color of Homos. And today its just in fashion...". Like Jagger, creases are his strong point, complimented by tons of imaginativeness.

Bruce Springsteen - A list of Sexiest Men without him cant be complete. Chiselled and drop dead Italian looks. With 'Dancing in the Dark' & 'Tunnel of Love", he had american girls go hysterical in early eighties.

Axl Rose - Remember 'November Rain'. Axl might have been a misogynist but when it came to the women around him, they were far from misoandrists. And his Cult status didnt help matters either.

Jon Bon Jovi - For girls who kept their faith, it was Jon Bon Jovi. It was their life and it was then or never. And they wanted it then. The biggest name on the other side of Atlantic since Jim Morrison.

Michael Hutchence - Mate here's the chance you've been waiting for. Hutchence made sure that Aussies were thought of more than beer louts. The early nineties belonged to him and his mate who went by the name of Pat Cash.

Eddie Vedder - He could set them on fire just by a look of his eyes. Those mischevious yet full of pain eyes that are known to be a weakness with the strongest of Ladies.

Trent Reznor - If his looks left something to be desired, his raspy voice filled the rest. One of the sexiest stars to have survived the turn of the century.

No dont accuse me of being partisan yet. I like to think of myself as an 'Equal Opportunities' Contest Organiser. So here are a couple of other options.

Prince - that dresss sense, that fetish for satin and those mannerisms make him the perfect choice for ladies, gents as also, others.

George Michael - Ladies are known to swoon over the WHAM frontman. And if the looks needed any backing it came in the form of 'Careless Whispers'. Lately however, he has been going outside, in the sunshine....

The above list is by no means exhaustive. Its not meant to be. You can vote for names outside of the list too. The Rules of the competition are simple. Participants to M2M choice of No.1. No.2 & No.3 "Sexiest Rock Star" to me. The votes should not be included as part of your comments as the late entrants would get an advantage of knowing which celebrity has its nose in front. At the end of the contest the most voted No.1. No.2 & No.3 "Sexiest Rock Star" would be declared on the basis of your votes. If your choices matches with the results, you stand to win gifts worth 500, 300 & 200 MS points respectively.

To kick this off, I'll vote Elvis for No.3, Springsteen for NO.2 and No.1 has to be Robert Plant. So if you dont vote to change the rankings, I get to keep the prizes ;-)
