I am starting a new series of diary posts related to debates on any topics under the sun. I would appreciate your participation and support. The topic of today's debate is:

Should mouthshut.com create a team of moderators consisting of dedicated members from mouthshut.com to screen and check the quality of reviews based on certain criteria before they can be published on the website?

My take:

It is very necessary to have proper quality checks before a review can be posted to stop people from submitting out of context reviews or contents copied from some other review websites.

The reviews that members submit should be their original work. If someone wishes to share something from the internet then they can use the diary feature provided by mouthshut.com.

I believe star members/dedicated members are the right people for this job because of their vast experience on mouthshut.com. This will reduce some burden off the shoulders of mouthshut team to maintain the quality of the website. They can also help in reporting reviews already submitted on the website that are either copied or have objectionable content to the admin team for appropriate action.

To discourage domination by the chosen moderators a system of monthly rotation of moderators can be implemented. This will allow every dedicated/star member a fair chance to become moderators. It will also ensure fairness and unbiased functioning of the system.

So these were my views on the topic. I would like to know what other members of mouthshut think about it. Please do share your views.
