The Centre has received demands for creation of at least 10 new states, including a separate Mithilanchal in Bihar, Saurashtra in Gujarat, and Coorg in Karnataka. Gorkhaland in West Bengal, creation of Bhojpurcomprising areas of eastern UP, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, Greater Cooch Behar out of parts of West Bengal and Assam,Vidarbha in Maharashtra ...

The demand for creation of Bundelkhand, comprising districts like Banda,Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Lalitpur,Sagar of UP and MP, have been pending for long with the ministry.

Some political groups are more agitationalin their demands. These include demands for Harit Pradesh carved out ofUP, Telangana and Gorkhaland,

Where are we headed? Are we not divided enough? I know that the greed for easy riches is driving some power hungry individuals to forward such proposals. Jharkand, and I do not know what all do we want to carve out ... What is it that we achieve by doing this? Answer is a few more seats and yet another dynasty takes birth where family of politician''s can come into existence so that we have MP''s, MLA''s, CM''s etc from one family posing as the well wishers of the region.

If it continues like this, every district in the country will want to be a state! And every town will want to be a district!"Status Creep" is the problem, and the associated cost of maintaining thousands of officials, MLAs andministers will have to be met by taxes. It would be much better if thereare no new states so that the taxes can be used productively for betterschools, hospitals, roads etc..

More states more Ministers more corruption and less tolerance for one another. All politicians will welcome this and this will come through so that more ministers can eat this country''s money and open bank a/cs in TaxHavens. They can have big Kothis,cars with lights and hold up traffic because of security.

There are already adequate elected representatives from different regions of the COUNTRY in the PARLIAMENTAND STATE LEGISLATURES hence the need for new States must be thoroughly researched. In my personal, humble opinion, the State of Jharkhand was only formed due to utter misrule of the combined State since the late seventies that peaked under the misrule of LalluYadav and Family. Since then, Jharkhand has not uplifted economically or morally but has instead fallen miserably.

Separate states for administrative purposes can be given a thought, but division based on culture,dialect, religion,or any other issue related to the people isunforgivable. The politicians may want to divide us further and furtherfor their interests, but sorry, we don''t want any more division.If they claim their state is too big for administrative reasons, it should be investigated. Rather than having a separate state, maybe they could add a few additional posts to look over the administration of those regions. We want India to remain as the country known for itsUnity in Diversity.

moreover, New STATES within INDIA must only be created if the MOTIVATION behind them is SOLELY THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMMON PUBLIC AND NOT TO FULLFILL THE ASPIRATIONS OF SOME GREEDY CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND THEIR GOONS.
