Hi folks,
I was wondering when I read Faisal mail about how customers were treated in the 90's, & although a lot has been done since then, we have miles to go before we even stop to think about rest. I am sure that I am not alone in this thought, as I have the mouthshut community behind my back, supporting me by writing about ll the negative experiences we have had. Although I have not done any survey, I have been told people are prone to remembering only the bitter times (when they bought a thing or service that did not meet their expectations) & forget about the goods things that happened. Personally I think that people have their own way of rewarding the good things they come across. From my own experience I can tell you that I would not recommend any one my mobile operator Vodafone, or encourage anyone to buy the car I have (A diesel Indica) but would surely recommend Max Balaji Hospital or Airtel DSL services or Whirlpool refrigerator & we all know that goes WAY more than a mega star promoting a product for money.
Life it is said goes a full circle,be it fashion or our behavior, & what was the norm in the 80's seems sadly to be in vogue again. The cement companies or the cola lords or the mobile operators: ALL are forming cartels, because they know that the customer has no option but to stay with either of them. Tell me how else would you explain the top 3 mobile operators in my city changing the tariffs to the same levels, on the same services, on the same day, U N L E S S they know that there is no where to go but to them?
With increasing purchasing power, more & more Indians are buying more & more products & services & again if the demand outstrips supply, people will become callous to your needs. Forget customer delight, I am afraid that we are going back to the time when they cock a snook at you & ask Hell yeah!! We are going to screw you, so what the F**K can you do about it? I can cite my experience with Vodafone or Tata to make a point, & they are not run of the mill idle companies, they are BIG branded companies who must have done some homework on this... So my question is are they right in treating people like the way they do, or do I have unrealistic expectations?
