It has been a few years, since I got connected with this revolutionary world of e- commerce.

It has been a little more than 5 years or may be 6 since I started using internet for transactions. The whole system has changed a lot since then, with many sites coming up regularly serving as online malls, online auctions as well as ticket booking, all from the comfort of home.

For me, it all started with railway ticket booking. The only site I knew was https://www.irctc.co.in. Booked a lot of tickets for personal use and still continuing with this useless site because still its the only site to connect to railways directly. Tried rail booking with OneStopShop and MakeMyTrip but they all connect via IRCTC.

Then came the boom in online banking services. Every banking service at door- step or I should say bed- step. Performed some fund transfers, not much needed for a aam aadmi like me. So, can't say much about that.

After that, started airlines ticket booking. After some research, I went off to start that with https://www.makemytrip.com. After making a few bookings for air, I tried railways but nothing more to get there. Also tried https://www.cleartrip.com but could not get any extras, so I stuck with MakeMyTrip.

Then came online recharges. I started exploring that with my TataSky DTH and started recharging for mobiles soon. And that was the first time I felt great as I got the confidence that this world is safe and I can do anything with the power of internet, sitting on my chair.

At last came the online malls. This was just the last year, when I started shopping online and a wonderful market I saw, nowhere to go, everything in a screen. I started off with https://www.ebay.in, then https://www.flipkart.com, after that https://www.snapdeal.com and still in search of new reliable sites. I am relying on MouthShut for reviews.

Just got interest in reverse auctions few days back, but I don't know much about that, don't know where to start. I need your help in that, if anyone, who has experienced it, can explain me.

I would love to here from all of you, about other faces of e- commerce services and would like to explore them.
