I have a hotmail email id. A couple of hours back I got around 5 Delivery Notification Failure messages in my Inbox. Tried to recollect the names of the persons who I seem to have sent the messages to. Could not remember any of them. Then I read the message in the mails. They all had messages regarding some business deals. I feel my email account has been hacked. The hacker looks to be based out of India. The message is as follows: “Hey, how are you doing recently? I would like to introduce you a very good company and its website is ele-superstore.com. It can offer you all kinds of electronic products that you may be in need, such as laptops ,gps ,TV LCD,cell phones,ps3,MP3/4,motorcycles and etc........ You can take some time to have a check ,there must be something interesting you 'd like to purchase . Hope you can enjoy yourself in shopping from that company ! Regards.” Then I went to my ‘Sent’ Folders and found that the above message has been sent to at least 35 recipients, mostly India based. I don’t know any of them nor any of the emails are saved in my account. As a first step, I have changed my password. But don’t know, how someone can just hack into the account without the correct password or is it that he has come to know about my password through some dubious methods. If things happen this way, how safe is our Internet Banking? Does anyone have anything to add to my knowledge in this subject?
