Today is World ENVIRONMENT Day,

A day we should all celebrate,

Because saving and planting trees,

Really feels great.

Today when we got our newspaper

It was coloured green,

With interviews of famous Environmentalists,

And a nature and Environment theme.

It explains us how we waste trees,

And how they play an important role.

But yet I wonder,

How many trees were chopped to make that whole.

Trees are Nature’s gift,

And have so much to give,

From the food we eat,

To the air in which we live.

Trees have helped us to get this far,

But yet man chops it for its own good

Not realizing what’s lost

But for some timber and wood.

Let us not use paper today

And make a change for once

To help us realize how much we waste

By using it in abundance.

We really need to do something

Take out an alternative

Like use the towels instead of tissues

So that few more trees may live.

Today on Environment day

Every moment with trees we cherish

Save more and plant more

So that they don’t perish.

Do your bit everyday

Save trees to the max

Because, as I say

A spade is mightier than an axe.
