SUCCESSFUL F’s OF BOLLYWOOD!

Its confirmed-Slumdog Millionaire is a global winner! The film won the hearts of billions of people and won 8 awards at the Oscars. The cast of the film has got immense popularity, including Freida Pinto. Born and brought up in Mumbai, Frieda started her career with modeling and her life changed after she signed Slumdog. In less than a year, she transformed from a small-time model to a worldwide famous actress!

I am highly impressed with Freida, maybe because her name, like mine, starts with the letter ‘F’! In fact, in Bollywood, some famous and talented persons have their names which start with ‘F’! I am not implying that only the F’s of Bollywood are successful. But some of the prominent F’s of Bollywood have managed to do some of the finest works:

FARHAN AKHTAR: He’ll always be the first one who’ll come in one’s mind in this list! A director, producer, writer and now also an actor and singer, Farhan has impressed everyone right from his first directorial film, Dil Chahta Hai. His acting debut in ‘Rock On!!’ was loved by all. Undoubtedly, one of the finest F!

FARAH KHAN: The bubbly choreographer started her career as a full-fledged choreographer in 1993. Today, she’s one of the finest choreographers and now has become a successful director too. Her films as a director, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, can easily be termed as highly entertaining flicks. At the BO, both films were smash hits.

FEROZ KHAN: The 70 year old actor still considers himself young! He once had a successful career as an actor and Jaanbaaz, Qurbani, Do Waqt Ki Roti and Dayavan are considered his significant films. He was last seen in Welcome (2007). He’s currently in Breach Candy Hospital, battling cancer. Let’s wish him a speedy recovery!

FAROOQ SHEIKH: He never became a superstar but viewers have always liked and appreciate him. His achievement is working with offbeat excellent directors like Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Satyajit Ray. His significant films are Shatranj Ke Khiladi, Umrao Jaan and Kisi Se Na Kehna. He wasn’t seen in films after 1997 and then resumed acting with Saas Bahu Aur Sensex (2008).

FIROZ NADIADWALA: Owner of Base Industry Groups, he is easily one of the finest producers today. His films stand out because of their grandness. Kartoos, Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana, Aan, Deewane Huye Paagal, Phir Hera Pheri and Welcome are his best films. And now he’s planning to do the unthinkable-he’s all set to produce a Rs 275 crore film titled Jewel Of India! The film is to be directed by Rob Cohen (directed The Mummy and The Fast and the Furious). It stars Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Katrina and also Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Monica Bellucci! Now this will be a much awaited film for sure!

F C MEHRA: One of the notable producers, F C Mehra passed away last July. He is known for his famous films-Professor, Mujrim, Sohni Mahiwal, Qila, Chamatkar, RamJaane and Aashiq Aawara.

FEROZ ABBAS KHAN: He received a lot of acclaim with Gandhi My Father, which he directed and wrote.

And there are also not-so-great F’s which include Fardeen Khan and Faisal Khan! Let’s hope we get more (talented) people in Bollywood with names starting with F!
