If you are a sports buff like me and watch cricket/football matches quite late at night while the whole family sleeps or you want to catch that eerie late night movie without disturbing people sleeping at home, then this wireless headset is for you.

I bought a Frontech wireless headset about 8 months ago and am very happy with it's performance so far. It has a small transmitter box that needs to be connected to the TV, PC, music system, iPod or whatever device which can take an audio jack. By an audio jack, I mean the standard pin that comes with any earplug/headset that you connect to a PC.

The headset operates either in the audio receiving mode or in the radio mode. In the former, you will be able to hear the audio from the TV or audio input. In the latter, you can listen to your local radio stations. The coolest feature, I thought, was the TV can be put on mute and you can still listen in with the headset. This is very convenient if you dont want to disturb people at home with the sound.

A minor inconvenience, I thought was that it drains batteries quite fast. It uses 2 AAA batteries in the transmitter and 2 AAA batteries in the headset. If you forget switching the transmitter off, you will have to replace batteries the next day.

Price I paid - ~600 INR. This is available in most electronic shops/showrooms where you get TVs and other white goods.
