Google Now is a step closer to coming to Macs, Windows PCs and Chrome books with the introduction of the service on the beta version of Google’s Chrome browser. Last month, Google had released Google Now for the Canary version of Chrome, which is the alpha version of the browser.

With Chrome beta, users will be able to get Google Now notifications via a bell icon on the menu bar in OS X or the system tray in Windows. Of course, this is assuming that the user is already using Google Now on their Android and iOS smartphone and has signed in with the same account in Chrome on their desktop.

Google is rolling out the feature over the coming week and it is not live on our desktops, yet. That said, judging by the pace of development, it won’t take long for Google to release it on the stable version of Chrome.
