Once , there lived a rich merchant in a city . One day , he arranged a grand feast . He got all kinds of dishes prepared but he could not get fish . He offered reward to the man who could bring fish . A fisherman caught a big fish . He went to the merchant for giving him the fish . The gatekeeper did not allow him to go in . He demanded half the profit . The fisherman went in He gave the fish to the merchant . He was much pleased . He ordered his servants to give him a large sum of money . The fisherman refused to accept the money . He asked for one hundred lashes . Then , the merchant ordered a man to give him lashes but gently . When he recieved 50 lashes he requested to stop . There was another partner . The gatekeeper was brought . The fisherman told the whole story . The gatekeeper was given 50 lashes severely . The merchant gave the fisherman a large sum of money .
