I've discovered many things while giving myself company. It's not that one loves to be at home all the time, but there are many things that you tend to learn when you spend some time alone. During these 3 weeks before I join in a new organization, I've discovered several aspects to one's life. One amongst them is building up patience doing the things that you hate most.

They say staying all by one's self isn't great all the time; it may make you a loner, but let me tell you that it's worth it! Often while battling with my weight thanks to my thyroid, I've noticed that there are several things that you read in books that are so true. Doing what you hate most is one of them. Arnold in his biography of fitness says that you should always begin with the exercise that you hate most (of course after tha all important warm up!) when you begin your workout. I tried to put this in practise and found it ot be really helpful. So I began with doing the thing that I hate most, clearing and sorting papers. Trust me I hated every moment of it, but felt much better that once it was finished.

Morever, it helps you build up an enormous amount of patience, because you are doing the task that you hate the most! There's something even better that comes out of it. Once you've finished the task you don't want to do that again, so you try and avoid the situation when you have to do it again. Me for once will hate to sort all that trash so I deliberately try and store it or trash the piece of paper the minute it comes.

From some of the many things I have learnt living alone, while the hubby is away, making this a practise has helped me in getting more organised. I can tell you for sure where I have placed the covers of pillows unto where I have kept some extra safety pins at hand when I need it the most. It's not like me to be organized as I am genetically inclined not to do so, but then this something that I learnt over time, despite several reminders from my hubby and pushing myself to the nth level to get there - and believe me, an organized world is a good place to be in!

I've also learnt from him that don't overdo anything. Take baby steps. If there's a lot you want to do at one go, don't do it all at once! Do the one that is simplest or the most hated one. That way you'll be encouraged to do more as you have finished a simple task or got rid of the one you hated most!

But I guess the best thing about taking these baby steps is that in time to come you are so good at juggling more than two things at a time that you are sure to increase your speed and spend more time visiting and re-visiting your hobby that's lying below a heap of dust or memory! Try it out, it might just work for you!
