One of the major festivals of India, Holi is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on the full moon day in the month of March.Holi festival is celebrated by people of different states with different traditions. But, what makes Holi so unique and special is the spirit of it which remains the same throughout the country and even across the globe, wherever it is celebrated.Holi is also called the Spring Festival - as it marks the arrival of spring the season of hope and joy. The gloom of the winter goes as Holi promises of bright summer days.Entire country wears a festive look when it is time for Holi celebration and market places get abuzz with activity. Womenfolk start early preparations for the holi festival as they cook loads of gujiya, mathri and papri for the family and also for the relatives. At some places specially in the north women also make papads and potato chips at this time.

The Indians in London also joined hands and celebrated this festival with full enthusiasm.A massive group of people turned out to celebrate Holi,in London. The visitors took part in the traditional throwing of coloured powder, as well as enjoying a variety of live music and dance.Among the performers were Bhangra and Bollywood dancers and dhol drummers from India, there was also a food village, stall selling Holi delicacies, and themed art and craft activities for children.I came across these interesting videos through youtube which where uploaded by IndiansInLondon portal. It helps all Indians In London, to meet and make new friends, services like interesting Blogs, Organising Events and inviting Friends. My favourite section is EVENTS it consists of the list for Indian Events in London such as Diwali In London, Holi In London, Asian Mela. The new to London guide is also very useful with lots of relevant information such as lifestyle, restaurants, places to visit and basic requirements of one who is new to the city.
