…...continued from previous post…..

Mankind will strive to live in environments free from viruses & disease causing bacteria, succeeding to such an extent that even brief exposure to the outside world will be a threat to his weakened, pampered immune system...

Sex which is practiced by humankind all over the world as a means of procreation & gratification will achieve a new dimension...with the ever increasing emphasis on variety, compounded by a compulsion to be hygienic, this act might involving strapping on a technological device and choosing once preferred partner (either a celebrity / historical personage) or conjuring one from one's imagination...electrical impulses from the device sent to certain pleasure zones in the brain will complete the impression of having intercourse with the fantasy figure...though this might sound bizarre, the current usage of blown up sex toys & vibrators could provide inspiration...Men & women will lead active, independent sex lives & sexual encounters between real human beings might be considered as primitive & messy affairs...with women no longer willing to spend several months of their life conceiving & delivering children, designer babies will be conceived inside test tubes with engineered DNA which will allow for multiple choices of eye colour, body type etc...

Intellectual power will continue to gain prominence over physical abilities...combined with a lifestyle which places increasingly lesser demands on one's limbs, the human brain might grow in size leading to bigger cranial structures & smaller, weaker appendages...a few thousand years down the line, our descendants would look back in wonder at the endurance and vigor possessed by today's average human...present day, world famous body builders & athletes will be legendary figures in times to come, slowly transforming into mythical characters...if this scenario sounds familiar, think about the way we perceive Hercules & the Indian demi-god Hanuman...

If this perception of the future leaves you with a vague feeling of unease, consider…We wrongly assume that we live much richer & more satisfying lives than our forefathers did...though the rapid advances by humankind has made life more convenient, whether it has lead to increase in the quality is a matter of perception...
