Indian football team has recently won the AFC cup held at Hyderabad by beating a much higher ranked team. Even though football is quite a popular sport in India, due to infrastructural unavailabilty there was a steady decline of our standard . The direction seems to have changed under Bob Houghtan and mercurial Baichung Bhutia. Baichung should be credited to bring in improvement in the the Indian Football scene. They have recently won the prestigious Nehru Gold Cup too. Now they have qualified to play for the next issue of the Asian Games. Hopefully they will play the next Olympic and bring in cheers to millions of Indians.
