Happened to see this movie "Just a Walk in the Park" in the Television on Saturday afternoon featuring George Eads as Adam Willingford, Jane Krukowski as Rachel Morgan, Richard Robitaille as A.J.Preston. Also featuring A.J. Preston's wife and an old lady named Selma and few others who are not much fascinating to the story.
I see movies to pass time as anyone does. But, I am very choosy in picking up films. This time, the name of the movie pulled me to watch it. "Just a Walk in the Park" - quite an interesting title isn't it. The movie itself turned interesting at the end giving me some good thoughts. Okay here goes the story and the review done by a immature reviewer.
Adam Willingford is a dog walker --- little unusual job he does. People who have dogs should be knowing who is a dog walker and what are his responsibilites. He also has his own dog - Ralph. (Nice name for a dog).
One client of Adam is a very wealthy lady who broke up with her husband A.J.Preston. As Mr.Preston is off to a business trip, he puts forth a request to Adam to take care of his dog for a fortnight and also gives him freedom to use his very neat, fashionable, highly sophisticated, gadgetted home.
In the same flat, Adam works for another Lady named Selma. Selma is a nice character who is pretty old and fat. Selma can walk her dog by herself rather than working out inside her home with the help of a fitness specialist and paying Adam to walk her dog. She is quite sensitive to get out of her home. The reason for this is that she is scared of getting old and adjusting to people viewing her as a old lady.
On the first day of his stay in A.J.Preston's flat, Adam comes across a beautiful lady, Rachel in the Lift who owns Monica(female dog) to which Ralph falls in love with. As the 2 dogs start playing in the Lift, Adam and Rachel gets entangled themselves in a twist of dog - belts.
Adam falls in Love with Rachel in the first sight. Tries to get close to her. Rachel mistakes Adam as Mr. A.J.Preston, the wealthy guy. When Adam gets to know this mis-understanding, he just keeps quiet instead of telling the truth. Rachel is a very distinguished personality who takes very long time in deciding what to choose right from ordering from a menucard at the hotel. That's her problem in life - She is just scared of decisions and very suspicious about all things in life. She has switched her course specialization for n number of times in her college for the same reason.
Finally they both fall in love after a few incidents of meeting and dating. Their dogs also fell in love with each other. In the middle Adam advices Rachel that she should do those things which her heart says her so. Also he says that she should not be thinking too much about making a right decision. Instead whatever be the decision - right or wrong - she should be proud that it is her's. At the end of a date night, Rachel jumps in to a public fountain as it is one of her long cherished wishes. She feels so happy that Adam helped her identify her true desires.
Adam shares all these with Selma who advices him to tell the truth to Rachel asap. By the time Adam gets courage to tell Rachel, she gets to know the truth by herself at a party where she is introduced to the real A.J.Preston. Adam tries to woo her back by saying that he has never ever tried to imitate A.J.Preston and take Rachel to some costly place and gift her some expensive items. Rather he has always taken Rachel to his favourite Park with Ralph and Monica and spent valuable moments which she shall cherish forever. But Rachel is not ready to forgive him and regrets for her decision of falling in love with a liar.
After knowing all this Selma gives a long lecture to Adam that he should be more responsible in life rather earning out of dog -walking. Selma tries to explain Adam that he should do some business or some decent job and secure his life to get back Rachel in life. She portrays dog - walking as a silly way of living. But Adam says that he is proud to do the job which he likes very much. He points out to Selma that she doesnot have the guts to step out of her house and she does not have any right to point at Adam's way of living. This stirs Selma's heart.
