Kapil chit funds harassed me!!!

This is my personal experience with Kapil Chit Funds Private limited, AP. Since it hurt me and frustrated me I am writing this and want everyone to know about this incident.


Few months back, planned to join Kapil Chits, so I got their phone number and called them. They sent an executive. He was nice, talking cooly, everything was fine. I was in need of money at that time because I wanted to invest money in property. I told the executive that I want to participate in auction and take money as soon as possible, in fact, I wanted within a month or so. I told this clearly to the executive. He gave me all types of assurances. He brought the assistant manager. They both gave me assurance that the chit will start soon and then I can take the money.


That was August 23, 2008, I paid them money by cash. They came in the night I think about 7 or 8. They took the money. They did not give me any receipt. I was bit worried at first but they could give me the confidence that nothing would happen. Their work is done.


That month August gone, September gone, October gone, November gone, and it is December now. I had been calling executive, he kept on saying that the chit will start, but that never happened and one fine day when he stopped picking the phone, I started calling asst. Manager. He also kept on saying that the chit will start soon, but it never happened.


I got really frustrated, vexed and what not. Calling them and listening to what they say was only option left for me. Then I decided now it is high time and went to their office. Response was not at all good. The manager was not in a mood to talk to me. I fired on the office staff. I asked them for refund of my money. They responded and put up a letter as formality, to show me that they are doing something. This time also nothing actually happened. They gave me 7 days time to get the cheque. After three days, I called, they said by Monday I will get, but no cheque. After 7 days, I called again, they replied that zonal office has rejected my application. The reason was I did not sign on the voucher. The voucher says "Received money." Without actually receiving money, how will I sign on the voucher. Then I called Secunderabad corporate office, they gave some Zonal manager's number. He also did the same thing. He was always out of station. After calling several times, he asked me to come to their zonal office in vizag, (Greater Visakkha), AP. This thing they might have done much earlier, I have no clue what is in their mind. I took break from my work. They wasted so much of time, now my work also. Anyway, I went there, told them the issue. This time again, they tried to puzzle me. I was in no mood to give up. I insisted that I want the cheque there and then itself. No more traveling. In fact they asked me to go to the branch office to bring the letter, which I had given them earlier, how disgusting. I bluntly said No, I will not go and said it is they who have to bring that. Having no other option, they cleared my issue and handed over me the cheque after making me wait for 1 to 2 hours. Luckily the cheque cleared and I got my money back.


I paid 6250, after harassing me for more than three and half months, they cut 250 rupees as processing (harassing) fees. I am a consumer with no support, so I had to accept this and came back. No doubt they are doing this to many consumers but I feel nobody is questioning.


MORAL OF THIS INCIDENT: Beware of false promises made by executive and other staff. Please do not keep quiet for everything, please react and directly contact the head office. The people at the top are, I believe, somewhat good, but the bottom end staff are irresponsible. So always catch the top people and you will see the results.
