My Wife and myself are movie mavericks. We have gone to every multiplex in Kolkata. I felt there are some categories by which we can classify the best and worst.

First of all, all the multiplexes are more are less good.

1. Best in terms of seating arrangement

We found the best one is inox city centre 2. It has specious seats, even if you seat on the front row you will enjoy the viewing.

The worst is inox city centre salt lake and also Axis Mall. Its quite difficult to view from the front seat. Overall the seats are not good in terms of comfort. Leg space is too short.

Sorry to say I have found few seats (like the hand rest ) are broken at Fame South City. May be they are working on this and may have rectified.

2. Best in terms of Sound

I found the best sound goes to Cinemax Screen 4 at Mani square. With deep Bass and treble mixing with DTS and Dolby Digital Surround Makes the hall enchanting to listen. you will feel the Sound in the seats you sit on. though all the Cinema halls have Dolby Digital Sounds.

3. Best in terms of Ambiance

Best in terms of ambiance goes to two hall which are PVR avani and Again City Centre 2 Inox. PVR Avani has the best Ambiance with magical decorations, INOX CIty centre 2 is distant second. RDB Adlab is also good with tech people throng there to watch movies.

4. Best in terms of Foods Service,

Best in terms of foods and Service goes to PVR Avani, good fresh foods with reasonable cost, the most expensive is Fame South City, Fame Highland is also good.

5.Best in terms of Communication

Though it depends on the Locality where you are staying but still, considering BUS, TAXI, METRO, Auto the best is INOX FORUM, then Fame South City, then Mani Square, though Axis mall - priya multiplex is quite difficult to reach. The location is at Rajarhat opposite to Home town, but its difficult to get a bus or shuttle or any other means of public transport after the movie gets over.

6.Best in terms Staff behavior,

The best is Fame South City, Fame Highland Park, RDB, PVR avani, Cinemax manisquare , Inox (all)they are all good. But only at Inox the security is very stringent. Even they argue a lot, more or less all the multiplex allow drinking water but in INOX they wont allow. If you are thirsty you have to shell out extra money to get a bottle of water. Which is unfair. Water is the right of every individual. May be they do this kind of business.!!

7.Best Screen,

The best screen goes to INOX Rajarhat, Excellent viewing Experience. The screen at RDB ADLAB needs improvement, The viewing is not good a bit hazy.

8. Value for money

The best Value for money goes to PVR avani, RDB Adlab, AXIS Mall, Fame Highland Park, the ticket cost are comparatively lower than the other ones. Fame south city is the most expensive in terms of tickes.

9 Overall experience.

More or less all the Multiplex are located in Big Malls, you can spend time with family watching, shopping, eating, roaming and enjoying entire day.

Best to mention in that term are Fame South City, City Centre 1 & 2, Cinemax Mani Square, PVR Avani. All here you can find everything excellent restaurants, shops etc.,
