City Limouzines’ chairman S M Masood on Tuesday withdrew his application filed in the metropolitan magistrate’s court seeking permission to go abroad, after the Enforcement Directorate and Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the city police objected, saying he may not return to India, as the company owed its investors money. The firm has been in trouble since August.

Additional commissioner of police (EOW) Sanjay Saxena said, “We’ve also filed an application in the Bombay high court saying Masood not be allowed to travel abroad.” This application seeks to alter a 2007 high court order imposing certain restrictions on Masood while he was abroad. The 2007 order allowed him to go abroad provided he applied to the Esplanade Court, deposited Rs 55,000 and gave travel details to the EOW. At the time, the lone complainant against the company had alleged that the company defaulted on dues of Rs 55,000. “The situation has changed now. The number of complainants is growing and the company has defaulted nationwide. Masood should not be allowed to leave the country,” Saxena said. The court will hear EOW’s application on October 1.

Another EOW application seeks orders directing the company to submit documents related to its transactions. Saxena said the company had been refusing to part with information required for investigations.
