Modeling Types Fashion Modelling - The Garment and Beauty product industries are majorusers of models. People want to see what clothes or beauty productslook like on somebody. Your high fashion, designer-label garments, aredesigned for what fashion designers view as the "ideal woman." This issomeone tall and slender, somewhat leggy, with a swan like neck. Inmajor markets like Delhi and Mumbai, this is someone who is at least5'5" tall. For men it is at least 5'10'' tall. You have to have that"look" to go with the clothes. In secondary markets we would like tohave this but we often work with fashion models that don't meet thesemeasurements.
Printing Modeling - This is fashion and beauty for print advertising. It can be displayed in ads or collateral print materials. This is themost demanding work to get but pays the best because of usage andexclusives. These are the ads that can make or break a designer'sreputation. With these ads it is very important that the concept, photo, and model work perfectly gel to convey the 'image' that iswanted.
Show Room Modelling - Modelling for buyers in the designer's show room
Single body part modeling- This is the use of just one part of the bodyin a photograph. Body parts model comes in another category. We willset up a shoot using the standard model's face but the body part ofother model's hands and it looks like it is just one person. Usuallybody part models will specialize in just one part of the body likehands, feet, legs, ears, or neck.
CorporateModelling - Corporate modelling is like Lifestyle but it always has abusiness theme. Again physical requirements can vary greatly, butusually attractive people are used - although sometimes charactermodels are used.
Glamour Modelling - This is the backbone of modeling most of thevisitor wanted to look for glamour and emotional pictures. Glamourmodelling is modelling for photos with a sexual theme. These could besimple cheesecake or beefcake photos. They can include bikini, sexyoutfits and lingerie modelling. On the cheesecake level, photos can beused for calendars, posters, and other pin-up girl products. You can'tpick up a car magazine without seeing a babe by the car or truck.Models under age limit 18-29 comes into this category. With the way thelaws are today a photographer runs a real risk doing any kind of sexyphoto with someone under 18. If mothers are being thrown in jail forphotographing their own children taking a bath and putting the photo ina family album, I think the risk is too great and the return too smallto do any glamour work with someone under 18. But this certainly opensup the field for women in their 20's, 30's, 40's and we may even beginseeing more good looking grandmothers in their 50's showing up.
