The compact SUV segment has been the fastest growing in the Indian Market.Coming 2014,this segment is set to get a lot more competitive!

All the Automobile biggies are vying for the top spot in this category. Here are six of them you should be looking out for.

1. Maruti Suzuki XA Alpha

This SUV was first showcased during the 2012 Auto Expo and if sources are to be believed there will soon be a production version out. This is based on the Swift and is supposed to revolutionarize this segment in the coming year.

Expected Price: Rs 7-10 Lakh

Honda Small SUV

This will be another great addition to the compact SUV segment with Honda's reputation as a big positive for the brand. This will also be based on the jazz like the new Honda City.

Expected Price: Rs 8-12 Lakhs

Hyundai ix35

This will be hitting Indian Shores by the first half of 2014 and looks very much like the Verna with its fluidic design . The ix35's compact size along with it's striking design will definitely strike a cord with eager Indian audiences.

Expected Price - Rs 7.5 Lakhs

Mahindra Compact SUV

Although details are sketchy about the compact SUV project, a recent concept from SsangYong called the SIV 1 may provide us with clues on what the Mahindra Small SUV could look like. Slated to launch with the same mechanicals as the Mahindra Quanto, the new compact SUV from Mahindra is internally referred to as the S102 project.

Expected Price: 6 - 9 Lakhs

Chevrolet Trax

Although Chevrolet will drop the name'Trax' for India(Force Motors owns the rights to this name) this tough looking compact SUV will soon make it's way to Indian shores.

The Chevrolet Trax based compact SUV will be offered only with the Fiat derived 1.3 Multijet engine that will also do duty in the Suzuki XA Alpha. The Trax might also be offered with 1.4 litre Turbocharged petrol engine, details of which are still sketchy.

Expected Price: 9-12 Lakhs.
