The most awaited comedy serial “Mr & Mrs. Sharma” Allahabadwale on SAB TV finally broke all the audience suspense. But I found the introductory episode a little disappointing. Well, maybe because I was expecting too much….. It usually takes quite some time for any serial to set up its strong base. I am pretty much sure that it will swing ahead.

Rajesh Kumar who is playing the lead role of Mr. Sharma has been always extraordinary with his performances; I appreciate his character especially in “Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai”. But I was surprised to see Divyanka Tripathy (essaying as Mrs. Sharma) playing a comedy role after watching her in the typical bahu character in Banoo Main Teri Dulhann which suddenly went off air. It seems Divyanka had not planned to play this character but says that it was in her destiny to do Mr. and Mrs. Sharma. I think her come back to the small screen in this serial with this character will do well for her career. Vandana Pathak enacting as Rajshree Shah, neighbor of Mr. & Mrs. Sharma is an extremely talented actress and her performance in the comedy serial “Khichdi” was outstanding and applauding. I have high expectations both from Vandana Pathak and Rajesh Kumar who have been veterans in the comedy field. I have also read that Sudha Chandran would be seen in this serial in a very dominating character as a friendly neighbor of Mr. and Mrs. Sharma. She will be seen in a complete Punjabi attire. Atul Srivastava in his character of a house broker (like in the movie “Bhootnath”) is also seen to be doing pretty well.

Though the first episode did not suffice to my expectations I am looking ahead to see some good comedy stuff in this serial. Audience needs to watch some good laughing material on television after a hard day’s work. I think SAB TV is gearing up with some of these like “Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chashma” and “Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo” and now “Mr. & Mrs. Sharma”. So I wish them the best in their future endeavors.
