Sharing My Wonderful Experience With Cradle

I had my second baby at Cradle on 21 October 2009. My first delivery was

at another hospital and I felt a huge difference at Cradle. Unlike other

hospitals in and outside Bangalore, when you walk into Cradle, you

almost feel like you are walking into a hotel for your holiday. They

make you forget that birthing is painful. Instead everything about the

place reminds you that you are here for something that will give you

immense joy. There is no place better than Cradle to begin your motherhood.

During the early stages of my pregnancy I was consulting with my earlier

gynecologist who was an excellent doctor. But we were not very happy

with the hospital. Cradle was on our list, but distance was a problem

for us because we stayed near old airport road. My first delivery was

normal and there were no medical complications. So when we drove to

Cradle for the trial consultation, we felt guilty of thinking of

changing hospitals just for additional comfort. We were also scared that

we might not get enough time to reach the hospital. But the moment we

walked into Cradle, all our doubts vanished. We were sure that any other

place will be a compromise.

Why The Cradle is different:

Doctor: I was with Dr. Shashikala Hande. Apart from her medical

expertise, her patience, friendliness and ability to explain things in

layman terms put you at ease. With her, you just know from the first

visit that you in good hands. I had a disc prolapsed and we were scared

that a normal delivery might aggravate it. But Dr. Shahikala did a

wonderful job at re-assuring us. We even requested for a C-Section, but

she assured us that it was not required and encouraged us to try for a

normal delivery. Throughout pregnancy she supported us the same way.

Finally when the pains started, she was with me though it all. At other

hospitals, they just leave you to suffer the pain alone (or with your

family members). But here was a hospital where the doctor was with you

explaining what was happening and trying to divert your attention away

from the pain. This made a huge difference and I was sure

that I am in safe hands; it reduced my pain to a large extent.

Other medical staff: The nurses and other medical staff at cradle do a

wonderful job at supporting us before, during and after delivery. Unlike

other hospitals, they do not get irritated at a woman in pain. At other

places the attitude is: "of course it pains... what else did you

expected ". Here it is:"creating life is a wonder and we are here for you

through it all"

Non medical staff: Friendly and cheerful non-medical staff, no matter

how busy the hospital is.

Infrastructure: The rooms and LDR are just perfect. At other places,

it is such a pain to keep changing beds when you are in pain... taking

that away itself was such a relief.

Price: Absolutely affordable and every single penny is worth it.

What is more, I liked Cradle so much that I have brainwashed and brought

my sister to Bangalore all the way from Kerala to have her first baby at

The Cradle.
