It was thought to be a rumor that Nokia, recently acquired by the software giant Microsoft, is releasing its Android phone. Its most-awaited first-ever Android phone is supposed to be called Nokia X.

News of Nokia X created quite a stir in the market. The so-called Nokia X is scheduled as model number A110 and will cost roughly USD 110(About Rs. 6,800). So far, there is no information about the availability of Nokia X A110. The yet-to-be-announced Nokia X will be first releasing in the Vietnamese market immediately after its launch.

Apparently in January, the alleged Nokia X was found at a Vietnamese e-commerce website with no price tag. The alleged specifications of Nokia X are a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 480 x 854(FWVGA) pixels, a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon 200 processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, microSD card support and Android 4.4 KitKat.

The CamSpeed benchmark said that the handset would come with a 3-megapixel camera instead of the previously speculated 5-megapixel rear camera. Earlier reports showed that the alleged Nokia X will have model number RM-980, a device that is apparently being developed.

It is rumored that Nokia X will use MWC 2014 in Barcelona as the platform for the Nokia Android Smartphone to make its first appearance. Everyone is looking out at Nokia to see if the Android Normandy handset does indeed exist. All questions will be answered in the Nokia press conference confirmed for February 24.

Nokia X’s low-end credentials means it could be destined for emerging markets only - omitting the UK, US and Australia. With low-end specs means cheaper price, hence the Nokia X is going to be a quite inexpensive Android device.

The best and the most prominent feature of this phone is going to be Nokia’s Normandy operating system. The company has apparently endowed heaps in the Windows Phone platform for its Lumia series. However, its Asha gadgets run their own in-house Asha OS.

The Nokia Normandy is supposed to use neither of these and may in lieu opt for Android operating system although an incredibly customized edition. There has been circulation of numerous screen shots online, claiming it to be the Android setup on the Nokia X. Most people drew comparisons with Windows Phone and the out-of-use MeeGo. The more detailed lock-screen alerts and an Android style dialler app show that the Nokia Normandy is packing a unique Google-flavored OS.

Recent reports claim that Nokia has been trying yet-to-be-released gadgets in India. Nokia X Android phone is supposed to be a Smartphone for the low-cost segment with access to the conventional Smartphone apps.
