With the under 19 team winning the Cricket world cup, it has become more certain that the country is investing all is resources only on one game. Sports such as football and hockey are always neglected. It was quiet surprising that even after the comparatively good show by the Indian athletes at the London Olympics, the sports authority has not made any progressive steps to promote games such as Boxing,Archery,Wrestling and Shooting.

Even worse is the Football team,victory at the Nehru cup will not make any foray into the team being one of the good ones in the world. Hockey also lies in the same fate,it is very difficult to imagine once winner of 6 gold medals,India finished at the bottom of the table.And we call Hockey our national game.

I feel that the reason for all this is that enough funds are not allocated and nobody is interested in taking these sports seriously.

If the Hockey and the Football training academy were as good as the National Cricket Academy, things would have been a lot more fruitful with respect to other sports.

Without denial I can say that we are a one sport nation.
