Predicting The Future
It is very surprising to know that People are always interested in knowing about their future when it is so unrealistic to predict.
I personally think that if I know my future then the charm of surprise is lost. Let the future open with all its charms and surprises.
There has always been a curiosity amongst people to know about the future. This curiosity has given birth to lots of techniques which are now in practice to unfold the future and astrology is one amongst the most popular ones.
Yesterday I was reading the news paper Bangalore Mirror, all the politicians from our state are rushing to meet Sri Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji the senior pontiff of the Kodi Mutt. The Mutt is located near Harnalli village in Arasikere Taluk of Hassan district. The mutt is famous for its seers who predict the future accurately.
Swamiji is predicting trouble for Yeddyurappa. In May 2009, Swamiji said: “The state government headed by the BJP might face some serious problems by the end of May and at any cost it is set to collapse by December this year. The time at which the CM was sworn in was defective.”
This mutt has its own history. During the 2008 assembly elections in Karnataka, Sri Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji, predicted that the BJP would assume power by getting around 110-115 seats and Yeddyurappa will become chief minister. His predictions were of course borne out.
According to the Bangalore Mirror source, The Kodi Mutt hogged the limelight way back in the 1970s when Sri Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji was approached by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi after her setback during the post-Emergency period. It was he who advised her to contest from Chikkamagalur, which in turn led to her comeback. Later his credibility increased even further when he predicted Indira Gandhi’s assassination. More recently, on the eve of the last Lok Sabha elections, the swamiji quite bluntly told a visiting L K Advani that he wouldn’t become prime minister.
It is because of his reputation and accuracy that many politicians cutting across political parties are thronging to the mutt, especially during this stalemate. Several politicians, from both the state and national level, regularly descend on the mutt to seek blessings from the swamiji and get their future prophesied by him. Among the VVIPs who have visited the mutt include former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao and H D Deve Gowda, former Chief Ministers like H D Kumaraswamy and Vilas Rao Deshmukh and several ministers from various parties.
Unlike regular astrologers, the swamiji does not scan the palm or horoscope of a person. Instead he consults ancient palm leaves where the genealogy and destiny of every individual, the mutt claims, is recorded.
Sri Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swami who is around 60-yrs old, was born at Kanchugal in the Kadur taluk of Chikkamagalur district. The pontiff, who inherited the palm leaf scriptures from his predecessors, reads the shlokas written on the palm leaves to decipher the future.
According to sources, the palm leaf scriptures contain the destiny of every human being born on this earth. Unlike regular astrologers, the swamiji here is known for predicting political futures and natural catastrophes in various regions. Currently, the swamiji is said to be charging Rs 5,000 per sitting irrespective of the person who visits the mutt.
Giving due respect to the concerned people I would like to request the astrologers, instead of wasting time on power hunger politicians & their future predictions, why don’t they see the future that will prevent the day today problems of common people ? Why don’t they try to prevent world from natural calamities, earthquakes & related problems?
Our State is slowly recovering from terrible natural disaster which has taken a heavy toll on life and property. It is very unfortunate that our politicians instead of working for the welfare of our state & country are worried about their own future. In future what one can expect from these selfish politicians.
Till then let us be realistic, we have only present, the past is in our memory and the future is only hope and imagination.
