As the release of the much awaited BB10 is around the corner, a lot of questions are being raised on RIM’s credibility in the current market which has become more competitive after the release of the Windows phone 8 OS. But anyways some leaks, here and there about the upcoming BB10 phones keep showing their heads. And this is happening too often lately. Many of the rumors were cemented after a video of the device was leaked and a teaser for the same was released by RIM a day ago. The image of the teaser has been uploaded with the blog along with the leaked video.

There are speculations that we might be seeing two phones, an L-series or Laguna and the N-series. The L-series is an all touch phone and the N-Series would be qwerty keypad touch phone. The L-Series in particular has honed the limelight for the last few months.

Here are some of the specifications that has appeared in the video as well as various sites I have read till date. This is concerned with the L-Series and not the N-series.

  • The device will run on a qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor.

  • It will have 1 GB of RAM.

  • The device will be 130 mm tall, 65 mm wide and 9 mm in thickness.

  • It will sport a 4.2 inch capacitive touch display. Most probabaly an IPS+ with a resolution of 1280 x 768 with great pixel density of 335 ppi.

  • The aspect ratio of the device will be 16:9 thus maintaining a common form factor.

  • It will sport an 8 MP dual LED flash rear camera with a 2.1 MP front facing camera.

  • It will have 16 GB of inbuilt storage with no micro SD card expansion capabilites.

Looks damp. Doesn’t it? This is not the official specifications. But if it is nearly equivalent to those mentioned above then it will not be an ideal RIM saver. Lets see how things will play out for this struggling manufacturer. As for the N-series nothing much has been leaked as yet. If I get some updates I’ll be posting it here. So keep watching this space for more. But one thing is pretty much obvious ; RIM’s future looks pretty bleak at the moment. A once fancied BB is now moving into oblivion. God , Save them!!!
